All You Can Eat

Trend-setting restaurants, Northwest cookbooks, local food news and the people who make them happen.

Kiss me, I’m . . . open in Bellevue, Paddy Coyne’s Irish Pub

Irish eyes weren’t smiling on my household this morning. Instead, my husband Mac — named for the “Mc” in his last name — uttered a few choice expletives regarding the state of his hard-drive (dead), our Internet service (ditto) and his temper (Irish). But now that the evening’s nigh and we’ve got all the above under control, I’m preparing to kiss my angry boy-o and plan to make one one his favorite dinners for the morrow:

Meanwhile, over at Bellevue’s Lincoln Square (700 Bellevue Way, Suite 100; 425-453-8080), Paddy Coyne’s Irish Pub is ready to roll for the holiday, having opened last week in time to pour a pint in honor of St. Pat. Like those Irish twins in Seattle and Tacoma, Bellevue’s Paddy’s offers a comfortable spot to celebrate the wearin’ of the green while filling up on Guinness-braised beef stew, Shepherd’s pie, fish ‘n chips and Mac’s favorite: corned beef and cabbage. The new pub’s open daily, 11 a.m. till 2 a.m. with earlier weekend hours in the offing.

So tell me: What’s your favorite Irish pub, and what do you eat and drink when you go?
