Who delivered pizza to President Obama?

Yes, we deliver — for some people. Photo by Tom Schabarum

One of the other times the president came to town, he stopped off for a Top Pot doughnut. This time, he got a delivery of Tutta Bella to Air Force One. Tutta Bella owner Joe Fugere had been called out by the prez at a White House bill signing for the Small Business Jobs Act, where President Obama said that “I still haven’t tasted the pizza, but he promises I’m going to get some at some point.”

What kind did they arrange for him when the day finally came? A spicy “Il Presidente” that included locally made Mama Lil’s peppers and Isernio’s sausage. (It’ll be on sale in all Tutta Bella stores next week.) No word if the order included Wikki Stix, a staple at their kid-friendly tables, for Malia and Sasha.

In other Presidential digestive news, Eater reported that Obama requested Tom Douglas’s coconut cream pie for dessert at the $17,900 fundraiser that Douglas catered in Medina. Makes the usual $5.95 a slice sound like a bargain.
