Details revealed on Top Chef Seattle

It took longer than we expected, but official confirmation came Wednesday that Top Chef Season 10 will be set in Seattle. Since you all figured that out back when Padma Lakshmi was giving withering looks at Pike Place Market and shushing at Olive 8, we were glad to learn some fresh details:

1. The show premieres Nov. 7! Anyone organizing a viewing party? As Hanna Raskin sharply noted, we probably shouldn’t expect one from Bravo.

2. There are no cheftestants from Seattle. Here’s a link to the complete list, but those piquing my interest at first glance include Carla Pellegrino of Bacio in Vegas (and former executive chef of Caesar’s Palace), Gina Keatley, founder of Nourishing USA, Lizzie Binder, most recently chef at San Francisco’s Bar Bambino, whose resume also includes Chez Panisse and The French Laundry — and then, you’ve got to be curious about a two-time James Beard semifinalist who “learned his basic culinary skills at Disneyworld.”

2. Bam! Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck will join the judging panel, along with returning judges Tom Colicchio, Lakshmi, Hugh Acheson and Gail Simmons. In an introductory video, the celebs talked up our town, with Lakshmi calling it “verdant” and Acheson praising our “amazing, burgeoning food scene.”
