A great neighborhood bar turns 7

Ask any Capitol Hill bartender or cocktail geek to name five bars they love, I guarantee you one of the answers will be Sun Liquor. If you’ve never been to this cocktail den, Sunday would be a great day to try it. Sun Liquor celebrates its 7th anniversary  by bringing back all the old favorite drinks for $7. (Best Mai Tai in the city.)

For the anniversary , Skillet food truck will be parked out front (from 5- 9 p.m.).  Note  this is the Sun Liquor on 607 Summit  Ave. E .and  not  Sun Liquor Distillery on East Pike Street.

In our trendy cocktail scene, we have too many mixologists with their overworked cocktails and too many cocktail lounges that feel stuffy. Sun Liquor is the cocktail bar with a Seattle sensibility – unpretentious, comfy, plenty of smart conversation. And the excellent cocktails cost $8-$9, but are as cheap as $6 during happy hour. It’s the neighborhood bar you wish you had down your street.
