We think of the Bite of Seattle as being the big summer eating bash, but that’s still another week away. Meanwhile, there’s a full feast of choices coming up this Saturday and Sunday. Check out:
1. The 39th annual Ballard Seafood Fest is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. There’s a BeerFest as part of this year’s event; fitting for a neighborhood just featured in an Associated Press article on cities that have been transformed by craft breweries. Details here. (Cupcake Royale will be selling the seafood cupcakes pictured.)
2. Dragon Fest in the International District will feature a $2 “food walk” from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. More than 30 eateries, from Fuji Bakery to Sun Ya, will be selling $2 dishes. A handful of food trucks will be there too, including BeanFish taiyaki. Full details here.
3. The Madison Valley neighborhood will host a Bastille Bash from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. More than a dozen restaurants will participate, selling bites ranging from $2.50 to $7.50. Chef demonstrations include appearances by Jason Wilson of Crush, Cormac Mahoney of Madison Park Conservatory, and Jim Drohman of Le Pichet. Food and wine tickets can be purchased in advance here, and more information is online here.
