Chick-fil-A, the Southern fast food chain known for chicken sandwiches — and a controversial stance on same-sex marriages — plans to open new branches in Washington state.
The corporation filed plans for a drive-through restaurant near the Tacoma Mall, at a location the News Tribune said would also include a play area and 111 seats. Design proposals have also been filed for a 4,350-square-foot store near Lowe’s in Lynnwood, which Chick-fil-A officials told the Herald was at least a few years away from opening.
They would be the first branches in the state since a Chick-fil-A at Western Washington University in Bellingham closed.
