Balanced budget? Us too, says Folklife

Tara Cunningham read our recent blog posts about balanced budgets at Seattle Rep and Seattle Shakespeare Company and wanted to crow about Northwest Folklife: Another balanced budget — in part thanks to cutbacks earlier this year.

roots.jpg.pngCunningham, Folklife’s marketing manager, also reported that longtime Folklifer Luther F. Black has been elected president of the organization’s board, and that volume three of “Roots and Branches” — live recordings from the NW Folklife Festival — will be launched with a CD release party at Columbia City Theater on Oct. 21. Performing that night: Squirrel Butter, Cahalen Morrison & Eli West, Spoonshine, Mary Sherhart & Michael Lawson, and Chris Cunningham from Ravenna Woods.
