‘Hunger Games’ stars to greet fans at U Village

Stars from the blockbuster-to-be “Hunger Games” will visit Seattle’s University Village on Saturday. Gridlock and fan frenzy are sure to ensue.

The movie, drawn from Suzanne Collins’ best-selling book, is one of the most anticipated of 2012. It opens in Seattle on March 23.

Jennifer Lawrence stars in one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Stars Jennifer Lawrence (who plays the central character, Katniss), Liam Hemsworth (Gale) and Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) will sign posters for fans beginning at 2 p.m. March 10 inside the Microsoft store. A Q&A will follow at 3:30 in the parking lot.

Anyone out there in blogland want to guess how much “Hunger Games” will gross worldwide in its first weekend? Seattle Times entertainment staffers are looking for it to break the $300 million mark, putting it just ahead of the first “Twilight,” but well behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2.”
