A way to keep up with Seattle theaters, concert halls, galleries, museums and other fine-arts events.

This weekend’s three P’s: ‘Pina,’ purses, pooches

Seattle Times staff has a motley assortment of entertainment events to recommend this weekend, from dance to dogs:

The national tour of “Pina”

If you’re a dance fan of a certain stripe, we urge you to see Wim Wenders‘ Oscar-nominated documentary “Pina” while it’s still at SIFF Cinema at the Uptown (through March 15). You won’t see any pretty pink tutus in this one, but anyone who’s enthralled by 20th-century experimental art or eye-boggling 3D filmmaking will leave inspired. (Take it from dance-and-film writer Moira Macdonald, whose review is here.)

A little less highbrow, but no less tasteful: Seattle Goodwill’s Designer Accessories Sale at the U District store on Friday and Saturday. You might want to clear out your closet before you go, to make room for all your “new” purses, belts, shoes, hats, ties and so on. (Yes, those are second-hand Kate Spade shoes in the photo.) Proceeds fund the Goodwill’s job-training programs.

Finally, when it comes to entertainment-value-per-dollar, you can’t do much better than a dog show. The Seattle Kennel Club turns CenturyLink Field Event Center into one big doghouse this Saturday and Sunday. Prices range from free to $10. Read Seattle Times staffer Madeline McKenzie’s preview, wherein you meet Sydney, a very accomplished golden retriever. We don’t have a photo of Sydney to share, but here’s another recent kennel club contestant you’re gonna love:

We’ll leave you with this weekend-preview video, taped this morning at KING 5:
