SAM throws open the doors from 7-10 p.m. April 13 for Teen Night Out, featuring not just free admission to the museum, but DJs, tours, an open mic and drop-in art activities led by local contemporary artists. Did we mention the free part? But wait, there’s more: In keeping with the “Gauguin and Polynesia” exhibit, partygoers can watch Tahitian dancing and drumming, learn to wear a pareu (traditional Polynesian gear) and even get a temporary Tahitian tattoo. Judging from the recent Remix party (SAM’s quarterly shindig for the adult set) the drop-in artmaking will be very popular. As they say in Tahiti, haere tatou!
