Which local artists are worth $25,000?

The Neddy at Cornish award announces recipients of the 2012 honor: Stacey Rozich, a painter whose artwork you may have seen in the Fleet Foxes video “The Shrine/An Argument,” and photographer Eirik Johnson (see an excerpt from Johnson’s book, “Sawdust Mountain,” here.) Each will receive an unrestricted grant of $25,000, and their work will be part of an exhibition at Cornish College of the Arts in June. Finalists for the award, established in 1996, are: Gala Bent, Cynthia Camlin, Jeremy Mangan, Susie Lee, Lead Pencil Studio and James Coupe. The Neddy at Cornish was established in honor of artist Ned Behnke.
