New art department chair at Cornish College

Cornish College of the Arts announces that Christy Johnson has been named chair of the Seattle college’s art department, effective Aug. 6. Since 2009, Johnson has been the associate dean at the School of Fine Arts at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, England. Johnson is an American-born artist who has lived and worked in the UK since 1990, and her interdisciplinary practice involves time-based media and the photographic arts. She earned degrees from California State University, Northridge, and from the Department of Art and Art History at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
