Just announced: The National Comedy and Northwest Comedy lineups for Bumbershoot 2012. The National Comedy bill includes “Portlandia’s” Fred Armisen, Janeane Garafolo, Brian Posehn, Kurt Braunohler and Doug Benson; plus, the “How Did This Get Made” podcasters Paul Scheer, Janson Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael will produce three podcasts over the weekend, saluting the “best worst” summer movies.
Northwest Comedy acts include Luke Burbank and his “Too Beautiful to Live” podcast, Jay Hollingsworth’s “True Story Comedy Show,” returning sketch comics Peoples Republic of Komedy, with their “Laff Hole” series, and The Comedy Stand, featuring hourlong standup comedy shows by NW comedians. And coming from up north are the Vancouver ComedyFest’s Illegal Aliens.
Also announced: While all of Bumbershoot’s comedy performances are included in a general admission ticket, venues for the comedy shows might fill up fast. To make sure you see the act you want, you might check into the festival’s free one-day comedy passes, available on a first-come, first-served basis each day of Bumbershoot, that will guarantee you a seat.
