A little bit of Seattle at the London Olympics

Alaska Bound- Triumph of Spirit ,

Seattle artist Paul Mullally’s painting “Alaska Bound – Triumph of Spirit” will be part of the Olympic Fine Arts 2012 exhibition, Aug. 1-7 at the Museum of London. The oil painting, shown here, depicts a scene from Fisherman’s Terminal in Seattle, home to the Alaskan fishing fleet. Mullally said he chose this work for submission because it exemplifies the Olympic theme: “To me, fishing in the Arctic expresses what it means to have unity of spirit in pursuit of a common goal.” The Olympic Games open July 27, which, by the way, makes London the first city to host the modern Olympic Games three times (others in 1908 and 1948).
