Sun Valley Opera hosts its 11th annual International Vocal Competition in Seattle on Aug. 21, meaning four aspiring singers will duke it out vocally for cash prizes. This year’s final four, chosen from 35 applicants, must perform one aria and one musical theater/crossover piece for a panel of judges and the audience. First place takes home $2,000; second receives $1,000. Past judges include these names familiar to Seattleites: Jane Eaglen and Clayton Brainerd. 8 p.m. today, Epiphany Parish, $20.
