Should Heart be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame?

Seattle band Heart, headed by Ann and Nancy Wilson, has been nominated a second time for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band has had a banner year, with a fine new album, “Fanatic,” and an as-told-to biography “Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll,” written with the help of Charles. R. Cross.

Will they make it this time? Maybe. This year, for the first time, fans get to weigh in. From Thursday Oct. 4 through December 3, the public can vote for five nominees (out of 15 total). According to the Rock Hall website the top five vote-getters “will comprise a ‘fans’ ballot’ that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2013 inductees.” The winners will be announced in December.

If you’re so inclined, vote here.

The other nominees are Rush, Deep Purple, N.W.A., Public Enemy, Albert King, The Marvelettes, Procol Harum, Chic, Heart, Donna Summer, Kraftwerk, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Randy Newman, Paul Butterfield Blues Band and The Meters.

Last year, Heart’s nomination generated quite a lively discussion. (To read it, look here.)

What do you think? Will the Wilson gals make the cut this year?
