Multimedia/installation artist Mandy Greer and filmmaker/choreographer Dayna Hanson are the 2012 Arts Innovator Award winners, Artist Trust has announced. Each Seattle artist receives $25,000, the largest monetary award available to a generative artist of any discipline statewide. Greer’s work has been installed in Seattle parks and has been seen indoors locally and and nationally. Hanson, who co-directed the dance theater company 33 Fainting Spells, has directed short narrative, experimental and dance films that have been screened in festivals worldwide. Four panels, representing literary, media, performing and visual arts and a multidisciplinary panel selected the winners from 136 applicants, according to Artist Trust.
