$90,000 worth of good news for 62 artists

Artist Trust, a Washington state nonprofit arts organization, has announced the 2012 Grants for Artist Projects (GAP) — awards of up to $1,500 for the development, completion or presentation of new work. This year, $89,660 worth of artist grants have been awarded to 62 recipients in literary, media, performing and visual arts.

Among this year’s projects, chosen from 603 applications, are: funds to complete a libretto; time to adopt a novel into a new play; transcription and translation fees; new photo equipment and classes; and travel funds for artistic research, according to Artist Trust administrators.

Winners include Susie Lee, Paul Rucker, Ben Zamora, Margie Livingston, Gail Grinnell, Monica Rojas, Oksana Ezhokina, Danielle Villegas, Jeff Bender and Christopher Arigo. Find a complete list, and details about the Nov. 1 party for the winners, here.

Artist Trust is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “support and encourage individual artists working in all disciplines in order to enrich community life throughout Washington State.”
