Seattle Opera’s fourth staging of Wagner’s complete “Der Ring des Nibelungen” in August 2013 comes complete with two milestones: It’s Seattle Opera general director Speight Jenkins’ last “Ring” (he steps down in 2014) and it is the first “Ring” that Asher Fisch will conduct in North America. Ticketing is under way: fans of SO on Facebook can secure tickets starting Nov. 8. Online ticket sales begin 9 a.m. Nov. 12, and phone and in-person sales begin Nov. 15. Ticketing, and other “Ring” info, here.

(Your dreadful “Ring” pun of the day: “What were Woglinde, Wellgunde and Flosshilde doing in the water? They were performing Gene Kelly’s ‘I’m Singing in the Rhine’.” — Frank Muir)
