Louise Erdrich on love, violence and memory in ‘The Round House’

Louise Erdrich’s novel “The Round House,” the story of an assault with a long, lingering effect on a Native American family, is winning high praise. It’s a National Book Award finalist for fiction (winners are announced tomorrow night). It was named one of Publishers Weekly’s best books of the year.
