A holiday treat from ‘Portlandia’ — and a peek at season 3

“Portlandia” fans rejoice: IFC is planning a holiday special called “Winter in Portlandia.” Note there is no reference to “Christmas” in the title, since that wouldn’t be very Portlandian, would it?

The episode airs at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and here’s a photo of it we received from IFC today. Scan all the details, because some of them are just delicious.

Also: “Portlandia” returns for a third season at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4. Special guests this season, just announced, include TV/film/music/sports personalities Roseanne Barr, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Hader, Dirty Projectors, J Mascis, Juliette Lewis, Bobby Moynihan, Rose Byrne, Patton Oswalt and Martina Navratilova. Jeff Goldblum and the Northwest’s own Kyle MacLachlan return for recurring roles.

Check out a scene from the coming season.

Just catching up? “Portlandia” is a loving satire of Northwest customs and characters, shot entirely in Portland. It was created by Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, whom you can read more about right here.
