Local artists create tickets to help Cafe Racer fund

How fun is art you can fit in your pocket? Plenty. Especially when it’s by Seattle artists Ellen Forney and Jim Woodring, who are part of a crowdfunding project, called Artist Tickets, with Brown Paper Tickets. Artist Tickets feature an original work of art (Forney’s is above, Woodring’s is below) on an event ticket, offered for a 25-cent donation (on top of purchase price) to Victims of the Cafe Racer Shooting Memorial Fund. The project has printed 100,000 of the Artist Tickets.

Celebrate the kickoff of Artist Tickets with a party at 6 p.m. tonight (Dec. 13) at Café Racer, 5828 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle. There will be live music and both

artists will give readings from their current books and autographs on Artist Tickets. Admission is pay-what-you-can.
