All month, more Mozart

mozart-1763.jpg

(Mozart, painted at age 6 – already a pianist and composer, he was learning the violin at this age.)

January is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthday month, and Seattle classical music station KING FM 98.1 is offering extra servings of his music. (It’s like cake, but better: a treat that is good for you.)

Radio listeners will hear at least one piece of music by Mozart every hour, 24 hours a day, through Jan. 31; concertos are featured the week of Jan.4-11, and symphonies will be featured the week of Jan. 14-18. For those away from a radio or who just want more, the station has launched a channel of all-Mozart music at king.org, which will mix music by international artists such as Jonathan Biss and Anne-Sophie Mutter with performances by local groups.
