The killing of Osama bin Laden

Mark Bowden, an acclaimed author of numerous nonfiction books, has just published “The Finish: The Killing of Osama bin Laden.” While several books have been published recently on the hunt for bin Laden, Bowden has his own credentials for the story, including “Black Hawk Down,” his book on an ill-fated Special Ops operation. Bowden personally interviewed President Barack Obama for his take on how he made his fateful decision to send a Navy Seal team into the bin Laden compound.

For a true story, “The Finish” is hard to beat for sheer suspense. You can hear Bowden discuss it tonight on “Well Read,” the books and authors program that airs at 7 and 10 p.m. tonight on TVW, the state’s public access channel. Or you can watch it here:
