Good news for early-music fans

Appearances by Spanish early-music expert Jordi Savall and Hesperion XXI were a hot ticket in Seattle last year. But Savall is coming back, as part of the Early Music Guild’s just-announced 2013-14 International Series season, with a program from colonial Mexico.

Here’s the rest of the series lineup:

–Lucidarium (Italy) performing Jewish Renaissance music;

–Blue Heron (USA) with medieval music for the holidays;

–Venice Baroque Orchestra (Italy) with countertenor Philippe Jaroussky; and

–Ensemble Caprice (Canada) performing “Salsa Baroque.”

Next up on the EMG’s calendar: The King’s Singers, performing madrigals and other works from England, France and Italy, on Feb. 16 at Town Hall Seattle.

Tickets and more info on EMG here.
