Art Spiegelman retrospective makes rare B.C. stop
If you want to see “Art Spiegelman CO-MIX: A Retrospective of of Comics, Graphics and Scraps,” a look at 40 years of the comic artist’s work, you’ll have to go north: it’s making its only appearance in the West at Vancouver Art Gallery in Vancouver, B.C. The first retrospective of his career, the show includes more than 400 drawings, sketches, studies and panels from his underground work in the 1970s, his revolutionary “Maus” (1978-91) and more recent works. The exhibit ends June 9; it travels next to New York. Read the Vancouver Sun review of “CO-MIX”here.
