Want to use the Neptune Theatre? Here’s how
Good news for arts groups with something to say, but nowhere to say it: Seattle Theatre Group, with Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods announces STG’s Nights at the Neptune: A People’s Theatre Joint. Eight groups will be selected by a panel to create and perform a public-arts event of their own design at the theater this summer. STG will staff The Neptune for two days for each project, with technical crew, basic lighting and sound equipment, as well as provide public relations and marketing support.
Now for the fine print: “The the program will emphasize access for artists and organizations concerned with issues of race, social justice, marginalized populations, and/or youth,” according to STG. Criteria include locality, underserved access to facilities and ability “to measurably increase activity in the neighborhood.”
Proposals are due April 1. Projects will be selected by April 30. Complete set of guidelines and where to submit are here.
