Paul McCartney to play Safeco Field

Live Nation has announced that Paul McCartney will play  at Safeco Field July 19.  The first major concert to be presented at the Mariners home field,  the show is part of the ex-Beatle’s 2013 “Out There” tour. McCartney, whose 2012 album “Kisses on the Bottom”  won a Grammy, has not performed in Seattle since 2005.

The show will feature material from McCartney’s entire career — as a solo artist, a member of Wings and of the Beatles. McCartney performs with longtime sidemen Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass and guitar).

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday (800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com). American Express card members can purchase tickets  from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 10 p.m. Thursday. Ticket prices have not been announced.
