Give classical performers a boost; vote in the Young Artist Awards

The 10 finalists have been chosen in the second annual Young Artist Awards, hosted by classical-music station KING FM 98.1 and Seattle Chamber Music Society, and listeners are invited to help choose two winners — one in the 6-13 age group and one from the 14-20 group. The awards are open to non-professional acoustic instrumentalists, vocalists, and chamber groups, and aim to encourage young musicians’ enjoyment and performance of classical music.

You can hear the finalists at 8 p.m. on May 3 and 10 on KING; pick your favorites here. Winners will be chosen May 14, and will play on KING’s “Northwest Focus” program on May 24.
