Seattle Public Library sets book-domino record

This is a post about art … sort of. The video below shows what we at ArtsPage HQ believe is a work of art.

Let’s say you’re a big public library. You want to kick off your summer reading program in style. You have energetic young folk hanging around and a big ol’ stack of books. This being Seattle, you probably have lots of coffee handy.

What to do? You spend seven hours setting up 2,131 books (destined for a book sale) just right …. and then knock them over. That’s what nearly 30 people did on a recent Friday night at SPL’s central branch. It took five attempts, but the results are glorious — and, the library says, a world record.
