Seattle Times readers name new restaurant for Matador owners

If you read ArtsPage regularly, you know that we staged a little contest today to give away a $100 gift certificate to the Matador restaurant and tequila bar. We asked readers to come up with a name for whatever the next venture might be for Nate Opper and Zak Maleng — the prolific Northwest restaurateurs behind the Matador, Kickin’ Boot Whiskey Kitchen and Ballard Annex Oyster House.

Mind you, Opper and Maleng didn’t ask for our help. But we figured these guys had so many restaurant projects in the works they might need a little help.

Our winner: Olé Mole, submitted by a reader named Mason. The contest is now closed. But check back at the end of next week, because we’re in a giving mood and may have another freebie to share.

In the meantime, enjoy some more hypothetical restaurant names, submitted by readers. We don’t have time to list all the good ones, but here’s a selection. Many of them suggest a certain theme or cuisine. So Opper and Maleng, they may give you a few ideas …
