Nathaniel Philbrick’s ‘Bunker Hill:’ the battle for independence begins

Bunker_Hill_610x460Looking for a way to commemorate July 4?  For entertainment, inspiration and edification all at once, try watching a lively interview with author/historian Nathaniel Philbrick, author of “Bunker Hill: A City, a Siege, a Revolution.” Philbrick’s book will put you right in the thick of the fighting during a few pivotal days in Massachusetts, as America began its long struggle for independence.

Philbrick is tonight’s guest on “Well Read,” the books and authors television show on state public affairs channel TVW. It airs at 7 and 10 p.m. tonight on TVW and repeats at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Tacoma public television state KBTC.

Or you can watch it here:

Then read the book. For more information, here’s the Seattle Times review.
