Seattle Rep wins $50K Ford Foundation grant

The Seattle Repertory Theatre is one of five regional theaters selected to receive a $50,000 grant from the Ford Foundation, which honors companies celebrating 50 years in operation.

The monies are earmarked for the commission, workshops and premieres of new plays and musicals.  The Rep currently runs several active play development programs, including the New Play Festival and the Writers Group, a residency program for Northwest dramatists.

As announced by the National Corporate Theatre Fund, the $50,000 awards will also go to the Guthrie Theatre (Minneapolis), Hartford Stage, the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville and Trinity Repertory Company (Providence, R.I.).
