Director search is on at ArtsWest

From Seattle Times theater critic Misha Berson:

The board of directors of ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery has appointed a three-person artistic transition team to oversee the hiring of  directors for productions in ArtsWest’s 2013-14 theater season:  “Little Women, the Musical”; “The Little Dog Laughed”; and “Hair.”

The team is composed of ArtsWest technical director Jill Beasley, ArtsWest board trustee Sheri Orts and Mark Chenovick, executive director of SecondStory Repertory  in Redmond.

Directors for the other two shows in 2013-14 were contracted earlier: Tammis Doyle will direct “The Taming”  and Peggy Gannon will stage “Third.”

The season was  chosen by former artistic director Christopher Zinovitch, who was dismissed by the ArtsWest board last month.  The search for Zinovitch’s replacement will begin shortly.
