Debbie Macomber, Washington’s queen of the bestseller lists, on the discipline of the writing life

Debbie Macomber (c) Deborah FeingoldWhich Washington state author sells the most books? Not who you might think. In fact, the reigning queen of the best-seller lists is Port Orchard’s Debbie Macomber. Macomber’s fans, millions strong, eagerly await her romances, many of which are located in the town of Cedar Cove, which bears a not coincidental resemblance to Port Orchard itself.

Macomber talks about her writing – how she started, how she maintains her self-discipline – tonight on “Well Read,” the books and authors interview program on state public affairs network TVW. It airs and 7 and 10 p.m. tonight on TVW (in Seattle, Comcast channel 23).  Her latest book is “Starry Night,” an Alaska-based story with a Christmas theme. If you can’t catch it on TV, you can watch it here.
