It’s been a good week to be a fan of the New Yorker magazine’s cartoons. (Raise your hand if you read ’em all before you start the articles each week.) Bob Mankoff, who holds the enviable position of cartoon editor at the magazine, was profiled on “60 Minutes” recently; he’s released a memoir, “How About Never — Is Never Good for You?”; and now our friends at the Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale are hosting “The Flip Side: Comic Art by New Yorker Cartoonists” (through Nov. 15). Portland cartoonist/artist Shannon Wheeler, whose work has passed muster with Mankoff, is the guest curator. Going over to Klickitat County soon is good for us.
