3-Minute Masterpiece 2014 winners announced

DIY-film fans may recall that last week, we announced the 12 winners of this year’s 3-Minute Masterpiece digital-filmmaking contest. Today, at a well-attended public screening of all the winners, two top-prize winners were also revealed.

Director William Schlepp was recognized as a grand-prize winner for “Day of the Living Statues,” a short crime thriller with an arty twist. Brandon Schlepp, Andrew Olivarez and Chris Brooks helped him make the film.

Phoebe Wall, Jessica Salmon and Abby Salmon were named the J. Michael Rima youth-award winners for “Go Fish,” a notably light-hearted zombie picture.
