Cornish cancels performances as dancer encounters visa troubles

Trouble at the U.S.-Canadian border again for a traveling artist wanting to share his expertise. Canadian dancer Yannick Matthon, one of the stars of Crystal Pite’s troupe Kidd Pivot, was scheduled to start rehearsals of excerpts from Pite’s brilliant “Dark Matters” for the Cornish Dance Theater Fall 2014 Concert. He was also slated to present a lecture/demonstration about Pite’s choreography on Sept. 19.

Cornish announces 2014 Neddy winners

Hear ‘From the Top’ from Cornish

Listeners of the Saturday, June 21, broadcast of NPR’s classical-music program “From the Top” will hear not only the show’s host, Christopher O’Riley, and other fixtures, but two young Seattle-area musicians as well: Violinist Felicity James, 17, of Seattle, and cellist Audrey Chen, 17, of Redmond. Seattle acting couple hurt; friends seeking help
