Tax break for Boeing called nation’s biggest

Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat reports today that according to an expert on corporate tax breaks, the package signed Saturday by Gov. Jay Inslee to secure production of the 777X here means “We’re No. 1!” in total dollars forgiven by any state for a single company.

“You were already one of the national leaders in corporate-subsidy deals. Now you are head and shoulders above everybody else. It’s not even close,” says Greg LeRoy, of a Washington, D.C.-based policy group called Good Jobs First that tracks tax-break deals to companies.
