Ex-Microsoft exec: Apple’s iPhone doing what Windows Mobile should have

For another take on Apple’s moves to push the iPhone into the business space, check out the blog posting by Scott Gode, who used to lead Windows Mobile marketing.

Gode left Microsoft after 14 years to join Azaleos, a Seattle company that offers hosted Exchange services, so he has some perspective on the iPhone starting to work with Microsoft’s enterprise products.

From his post, which an Azaleos spokesman called out:

“Apple is entering the business space the way that Microsoft SHOULD have entered it. Microsoft targeted the business space with Windows Mobile initially and has been working over the course of the last 4-5 years to try to gain entrĂ©e and enthusiasm in the consumer space. Apple on the other hand won the consumer hearts and minds first and now they have the momentum and in June they will have the technical/IT checkboxes in place to enter the business space with gusto.”
