In a twist on the distribution deals happening at the Casual Connect conference, Seattle-based FlowPlay announced that it’s going to integrate games into its virtual world.
FlowPlay hooked up with Bothell’s Sandlot Games and San Francisco publisher PlayFirst to incorporate games such as “Diner Dash” and “Cake Mania” into its “ourWorld” virtual world.
The release said it’s the “first-ever virtual platform to integrate high profile casual games directly into a virtual setting.”
From another angle, it’s cutting-edge product placement.
Sandlot’s “Cake Mania” will be showcased though a bakery built into the virtual world, where players can work as bakers or play as customers and buy virtual cakes.
