Microsoft will give free Windows 7 upgrade coupons to people who buy Windows Vista machines starting July 1, according to a Tech ARP report that Mary Jo Foley picked up today.
If true, that’s evidence that Windows 7 is coming sooner rather than later. It also suggests Microsoft will bend over backwards to keep Vista PC sales moving as Windows 7 approaches. The company generaly provides upgrade coupons close to a Windows launch, but July seems pretty early.
I wonder if the coupons could be used as part of a settlement of the “Vista capable” class action suit grinding along in Seattle?
