First HD helmet cam released by Seattle’s VholdR

The Seattle maker of wearable video cameras expects sales to soar this year, boosted in part by a new high-def model released today.

Called the ContourHD, the $300 eggroll-sized gadget uses two lasers for alignment and captures up to 8 hours of 720p, 16 x 9 video. It also captures audio with a microphone upgraded from the one used on the company’s previous model.

“Despite the economy, we’re going to double or triple our business this year,” VholdR co-founder Marc Barros said via e-mail.
