Kirkland video startup 1Cast is coming out of beta testing today and announcing a deal with Boxee that will get its “personalized video” streams into living rooms.
The Craig McCaw-backed venture lets users create their own newscasts, choosing from video provided by most major news networks.
The free, ad-supported service has been available on the iPhone and Android phones and via browsers. Now it’s also joining the list of video services that Boxee’s “social media center” software handles on PCs and PC-connected TVs.
A new version of 1Cast’s Web site is also appearing today. The company said it’s been serving 3.2 million video clips per month during the beta period which began last November.
