The Wall Street Journal today became the latest of many media outlets to report that Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform will launch on Oct. 11. The Journal story has details of the New York launch event, which Cnet reported on Sept. 10 and on Monday Engadget reported that Microsoft was having a simultaneous event in London.
But launch doesn’t mean general availability. The story says AT&T will begin selling Windows Phone 7 devices – from HTC, Samsung and LG – on Nov. 8.
T-Mobile’s also going to be selling them, presumably on or around Nov. 8 as well.
