Aussie game school chooses Seattle Center site

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment will begin offering its video game development classes in June at the Seattle Center, the school said in a press release today.

In December word surfaced that the private Australian game school was looking for a Seattle area campus that will be led by Christopher Erhardt, a veteran of DigiPen in Redmond.

The school will offer one-year certificate programs in game development, two-year diplomas and classes in animation and digital post-production.

It’s occupying a space on the fourth floor of the Center House at Seattle Center.

The AIE will not displace any of the Seattle public high school that’s also upstairs in the Center House, according to a Seattle Schools spokeswoman.
