Tech giant EMC is talking up its plans to add 200 new jobs at Isilon, the Seattle data storage company that EMC acquired last year for $2.25 billion.

The hiring — first reported in The Seattle Times in January — was highlighted in a press event at the new Pioneer Square offices that Isilon moved in to three weeks ago.

EMC said the hiring will increase Isilon’s Seattle team by 75 percent since the December acquisition.

Sujal Patel, the RealNetworks veteran who founded Isilon in 2001, was joined by Mayor Mike McGinn and EMC Chief Executive Joe Tucci at the event.
