Dell: “A lot of demand” for Windows 8 tablets

Michael Dell talked about demand for Windows 8 tablet PCs – including upcoming systems from his company – in a Bloomberg TV interview.

Windows 8 tablets will be especially appealing to companies running lots of Microsoft software, he said.

Dell’s comments suggest that Microsoft and its partners are going to use security and compatibility as selling points with business customers.

“For the business customer who has very large installed base of Windows and the Windows ecosystem, having a secure Windows tablet that works with all the Windows applications, we’re hearing a lot of demand for that,” he said.

Here’s the video. Dell starts talking about Windows 8 about seven minutes in.
