The chief executive of Seattle-based Lockerz is leaving to become one of the top executives in Yahoo’s new regime.
Kathy Savitt will become Yahoo’s chief marketing officer, reporting to Chief Executive Marissa Mayer.
Lockerz appointed Mark Stabingas chief executive. A veteran of Amazon.com and PepsiCo, Stabingas began consulting with Lockerz in 2010 and became chief operating officer in March 2011.
The change at Lockerz, a 55-person social commerce company, takes effect Sept. 14. Savitt will then “be making a personal investment” in the company, its release said.
Savitt is a longtime Seattle marketer who earlier worked for Amazon.com and American Eagle Outfitters. She was also president of the MWW Savitt marketing agency.
“We are very excited to welcome Kathy to Yahoo” Mayer said in the announcement. “Her extensive experience in building and refining well-loved consumer brands like Amazon, American Eagle Outfitters and Lockerz will be incredibly valuable as we define Yahoo!’s future.”
Savitt said in the release that Yahoo “is at an important and unique inflection point in its storied history.”
“I believe passionately in Yahoo’s ability to inspire and delight users, partners and advertisers around the world and am excited to join Marissa in defining Yahoo’s next chapter,” she said in the release.
