Zillow buys small house-shopping startup

Zillow today is announcing its fourth acquistion, a two-person New York venture that builds tools for home buyers and real estate agents to collaborate.

The startup, called Buyfolio, is the fourth acquisition by ZIllow and gives the company more marketing and sales tools to offer real estate agents and brokerages. Zillow declined to provide the purchase price.

Buyfolio has some history with Zillow’s founders, who are veterans of Expedia. Buyfolio was started last year by Matt and Susan Daimler who earlier started SeatGuru.com and sold it to Expedia in 2007.

The Daimlers will remain in New York City, the market currently served by Buyfolio.

Buyfolio helps home shoppers by giving them a “simple, real-time snapshot of their home search,” which can be annotated by their agent, according to Zillow’s release.
